Pharmacognostic and preliminary phytochemical investigation on bark of Bridelia retusa Spreng

AbstractBridelia retusa bark has been traditionally used for the treatment of various ailments such as rheumatism, diarrhoea and dysentery. In view of its medicinal importance and to have taxonomic clarity about the plant the present study was done to investigate the pharmacognostic, microscopical, morphological and various chemical parameters of the bark. The studies will provide referential information for the correct identification of the crude drug.
